Documentgate provides an online platform for creating, editing, and publishing resumes, cover letters, and professional portfolios. The Service includes AI-assisted writing tools, templates, and portfolio hosting. Certain features require a paid subscription.
3. User Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it to keep it accurate. You must notify us immediately at legal@documentgate.com of any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Acceptable Use
- You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
- You may not upload, transmit, or distribute content that is defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or infringes any third-party intellectual property rights.
- You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems.
- You may not use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without our express written permission.
- You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without a separate written agreement.

5. Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you create and upload to the Service ("User Content"). By publishing or sharing User Content through the Service, you grant Documentgate a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all User Content you submit, and that it does not violate these Terms or any applicable law.
6. Intellectual Property
All templates, designs, software, text, graphics, and other materials provided by Documentgate (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to Documentgate and are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to use these materials solely as part of the Service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without express written permission.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
Some features require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method on a recurring basis. All fees are stated in USD unless otherwise indicated. Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods except where required by applicable law.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We do not guarantee employment outcomes or the accuracy of AI-generated content. You use AI-assisted features at your own discretion and should review all generated content before use.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Documentgate and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Documentgate and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
